CARCASS LIVE @ The Masquerade/Atlanta, GA
I can't believe it's almost been a week since we saw CARCASS at The Masquerade in Atlanta last Friday, September 12. I finally found some time to upload pix we took at the show. It was over a decade since I saw CARCASS live, about 14-15 years ago in New York, so I was really lucky to catch this North American reunion tour in Atlanta (special thanks to Gerardo Martinez at Nuclear Blast). Arrived a little late and missed 1349, Aborted, Rotten Sound... but was just in time to see SUFFOCATION play a brutally f*ckin awesome set, including Frank Mullen's charming Walmart intro to "Bind Torture Kill." CARCASS mixed up some grind from their earlier albums Reek of Putrefaction along with stuff from Heartwork. They sounded necrotic as ever with an almost original lineup, Walker, Steer, Amott with Daniel Erlandsson from Arch Enemy playing drums for Ken Owens (I think because of Ken Owens' health he was not able to join the tour.)
